Appointments for arranging and registering funerals can be made with the Cemetery Administration by calling +49 (0)2051 26-2796.
Office hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
The following documents can be submitted at least 15 minutes before the agreed registration appointment using the service form (online registration) or by e-mail to the Cemetery Administration . This will significantly reduce the processing time during the appointment. You will then receive a confirmation.
Required documents for registration:
1. Contractor Registration: For first-time activity, a Contractor Registration Form including all relevant supporting documents must be submitted.
2. Burial Application: The burial application and all related forms must be signed exclusively by the next of kin or other person placing the order. Invoices for the burial, interment, or funeral service will be issued directly to the applicant only.
3. Death Certificate: Please note that deferred submissions are not accepted. In such cases, a Burial Permit issued by the relevant Registry Office or Public Order Authority must be provided.
4. Supplement to the Burial Application: Requried for the following grave types: Lawn Grave (including Lawn Urn Grave) and Tree Grove Burial.
5. Urn Accompanying Certificate: This certificate is issued by the crematorium.
6. Purchase of a New Family Grave or Tree Grove Burial Site: When purchasing a new family grave or tree grove burial site, the responsible cemetery must be visited. Together with cemetery staff, the burial plot must be selected and designated. If applicable, an additional application form for the acquisition of burial rights must be completed.
7. Ash Scattering Area: For ash scattering, the Declaration for Ash Scattering together with a copy of an official identification document (identity card or passport) must be submitted in advance by email. After review, you will receive a prompt response. To arrange an appointment, all original burial-related documents must be presented, including the original Declaration for Ash Scattering. A fixed date for the ash scattering can only be scheduled once all documents have been fully reviewed and approved.
8. Temporary Grave Marker (Family Grave or Single Grave): The placement of temporary grave markers (for example, simple wooden crosses, plaques, or signs displaying the name of the deceased) is permitted on a temporary basis for up to nine months after the burial or interment. These markers serve solely as an aid in locating the grave and do not replace a permanent memorial in accordance with the Cemetery Regulations. No special approval is required; however, the installation must be reported in writing beforehand using the appropriate form. After the above-mentioned period has expired, the temporary marker must be removed completely.
For Earth Burials: Please inform us of any oversized coffin dimensions so that grave preparation can be carried out safely and without complications.
